Who We Are and What We Do
James D. Perry is a Southern California lawyer who has committed 21 plus years to providing his clients with outstanding legal representation in Estate Planning, Probate, Elder Law and Trust and Estate Administration at a reasonable rate and cost.
Because he takes the time to establish a special relationship with his clients, Jim Perry customizes his approach on an individual client’s needs and goals.
He is available, accessible, easy to talk to and comfortable to work with on the personal and often emotional issues of estate planning, wills, living trusts, probate and elder law.
When asked about his approach to the subject of Estate Planning, Mr. Perry says,
“I listen carefully to my clients to find out their goal, then use my experience to find the best way to achieve it. In the end, when my job is done, my clients often report a feeling of ‘peace of mind’ that they have a well thought out estate plan that will work for their family.”
Jim grew up in Whittier, California. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Redlands, he entered UCLA to study law. In 1968, his initial law school studies were interrupted by the war in Viet Nam and his call to service in the United States Army.
Upon his discharge from the service, Jim served in various positions in government and business as a consultant to the state legislature Sacramento, as Director of Housing Community Development for the City of Redondo Beach, as the owner of a three fast food restaurants in Long Beach.
Ultimately Jim sold his businesses, returned to law school to complete his degree, and was admitted to the California State Bar as an attorney and counselor at law in 1987.
Jim Perry believes strongly that good and timely estate planning is critical to families so they can be secure in the knowledge that after their death, the estate will be distributed with minimal delay, and cost, while avoiding legal tangles and disputes among family members.
